Ingredients

This easy recipe features just a few simple ingredients:

Gummy worms:  You can use regular or sour gummy worms; just make sure to have enough to add 3-4 critters to each pudding cup! (The gummy worms are my kid’s favorite part of this recipe, as we usually do not eat a lot of candy.)

You could also feature other gummy creatures like frogs or insects!

Pudding: Instant pudding is the base of this treat. It’s fast and straightforward to make.

Cool whip: Blending whipped cream into this recipe makes the dessert cups smooth, creamy, and delicious!

Cold Milk: Milk is required to make the pudding creamy. You can sub almond milk if need be!

Oreos: Crushed Oreos are the star of this dessert. You can make them as fine or crunchy as you like. I like to leave a few big cookie clumps; it gives them the impression of real dirt!

Strawberries:  Sliced strawberries add charm, flavor, and color to these dirt cups. They lend the feel of a natural garden brimming with life!

How To Make Dirt Pudding Cups

Step 1: Make pudding. First, make your instant pudding by mixing milk and pudding mix. You can follow the package instructions or read them below. Chill in the fridge for 5-10 minutes.

Step 2: Crush Oreos + slice strawberries: While the pudding chills, crush your Oreos to a fine mixture. You can use a large Ziploc bag and a rolling pin or grind them in a food processor. Slice the strawberries into quarters, leaving the greenery in place.

Step 3: Add Cool Whip to pudding:  Fold the Cool Whip until combined. Then, scoop equal amounts of the pudding mixture into each cup.

Step 4: Decorate: Now for the fun part! Sprinkle equal amounts of crushed Oreos on top of the pudding mixture. Top with crushed Oreos, worms, and strawberries!
