Food weaves memories throughout the history of our lives, connecting us to special people and places. After all, flavor and fragrance boast some of our most powerful memories.
As I grew, I whipped up delicious chocolate chip cookies with dad (slightly burnt edges), mixed together countless pans of rice krispy treats with friends, and watched my mom make magic in the kitchen with classic snickerdoodles.
As I entered my 20’s, I began to experiment. What combination of ingredients made chocolate chip cookies soft instead of crisp? Should I use butter, or margarine?
I crafted three layer cakes for birthday parties, experimented with fondant, and made dozens of cookies for friends, co-workers, and eventually my husband, Yoonwa. Baking was not only a hobby, but a chance to express my creativity and love for others.
As a homeschool mom, I now feed four hungry little ones all day (second breakfast, anyone?). Sourdough gives me the opportunity to bake simple and nourishing breads, crackers, or treats for my kids.
We also bake together, a lot… determined to find the best recipes for fun recipes like macaroons or blueberry muffins.
The overwhelm (and challenge) was real, however, when I began sourdough baking six years ago. Over time I’ve created systems and recipes that empower me to make all of my family’s baked goods at home.
My goal is to give you simple, easy recipes that demystify the sourdough baking process, making it realistic to bake every day if you desire. I also share fun recipes that you will enjoy making with and for your family!
