Health Benefits of Lemons For Colds and Viruses

Vitamin C rich lemons are known to be helpful in warding off colds. They contain over half of your daily needed vitamin C, and are also filled with antioxidants. Both of these nutrient boosts can potentially shorten the length and severity of a cold. I also find lemon to be invigorating and energizing to drink. It’s a much needed pick me up for moms who need a healthy energy source!

What does Baobab Fruit taste like?

Baobab has a citrus like, tart taste that pairs well with lemons. The powder is chalky, but mixes and dissolves very well into drinks. The baobab and lemon drink featured here reminds me of a creamsicle in taste!

How Much Baobab Powder Per Day Can I Take?

One serving of baobab powder is one tablespoon. However, when sick I take 2-3 tablespoons a day for the added immune and detoxification support. Since baobab powder is made from the pulp of a fruit, I would incorporate it into your diet in a moderate way like you would a normal food. A couple of servings a day is great!

Tips For Making Baobab Juice And Lemon Immunity Boosting Drinks

This immunity boosting drink is really very simple and easy to make. However if the ingredients are mixed together too quickly you can end up with an explosion due to the carbonation!

Here are a few tips for explosion free mixing of your drink:

Use an extra large glass for mixing. I use a 24 oz mason jar and it works very well, with lots of room to contain any fizzing:

Combine your flavored water and ice first. Wait five minutes for all fizzing from the carbonation to stop. Then, add your baobab powder, lemon juice, and stevia.

At this point your container will only be half full. Mix your drink thoroughly with a straw. Fill to the top with water and enjoy!
