My kids love this easy Chick-fil-A copycat recipe, and I love how easy it is to make!

Coming together in just a few minutes, it’s the perfect rainbow fruit salad for birthday parties, showers, and picnics. 

My kids prefer to eat it any old time, however-it’s that good!

This easy salad is made with red and green apples, blueberries, strawberries, and mandarin orange segments. A generous drizzle of lemon over the top livens up the flavor.

Ingredients

All you need for this simple recipe is fresh fruit!

  • 2 red apples, chopped
  • 2 green apples, chopped
  • 1 pint fresh blueberries
  • 1 pound fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 4 mandarin oranges, peeled and sliced (or a 15 ounce can of mandarin oranges)
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice (about 2 lemons)

Recipe Notes + Tips

  • Soak the fruit in a vinegar and water solution before preparing.
  • Fresh apples brown quickly, but the lemon juice will slow down the oxidation and keep them looking fresh.
  • For best results, stir the fruit gently so you don’t bruise the blueberries and strawberries.
  • The sooner you eat the fruit, the better.  Chill until ready to consume (up to 3 hours before eating).

How To Make Chick-fil-A Fruit Cups

  • Chop: Slice and chop the apples, remove the strawberry stems, and quarter them. 
  • Combine: Add all of the fruit to a large bowl.  Sprinkle two tablespoons of lemon juice over the fruit. 
  • Mix:  Use a spatula to mix all the ingredients together gently.  Enjoy!

Storing Leftovers

While this salad is best consumed fresh, you can store any leftover fruit salad in an airtight container for up to 48 hours. 

Variations

  • Add a tablespoon of maple syrup or honey to sweeten up the salad.
  • Blue cheese crumbles add a delicious depth to the flavor.
  • Nuts and seeds add protein and oomph to this simple side.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 large red apples
  • 2 large green apples
  • 1 pound strawberries hulled and sliced into quarters
  • 1 pint blueberries
  • 4 mandarin oranges Or 15 ounce can of mandarin oranges
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions
 

  • Wash all fruit. Chop apples and dice into small pieces. Remove stems from strawberries and quarter the strawberries.
  • Add blueberries, strawberries, oranges, and apples to a large bowl. Drizzle two tablespoons of lemon juice over the fruit.
  • Gently stir the fruit with a large spatula. Enjoy!
