Homemade Sourdough Bread Croutons

These homemade sourdough croutons are baked in the oven for perfect flavor! Turn your stale sourdough bread into delicious homemade croutons.

Ingredients
  

  • 6 cups sourdough bread chopped into 1/2 inch cubes 6-8 slices
  • 1/2 cup salted butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    Melt the butter and add it to a large bowl.  Pour in the oil and seasoning and mix well. 
  • Toss the bread chunks in to butter mixture, making sure to coat well. 
    Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place bread cubes on it in a single layer. 
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the croutons are light brown on the edges.

Notes

  • Cool leftover croutons before storing.  Place in an airtight container and store for 5-7 days. 
  • Add extra flavor by sprinkling garlic powder and parmesan cheese on top!
  • Chop up the bread cubes as small or large as you'd like!
