This easy to make chocolate truffle recipe is a mouth watering Christmas treat! You'll just need cocoa powder, dark chocolate and heavy whipping cream to make these gorgeous chocolate balls.
Make ganache: combine chocolate with 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream and microwave for 30 seconds at half power. Stir with spatula, then microwave for 30 more 30 more seconds at half power.
Stir mixture until glossy and smooth and no chocolate lumps remain.
Refrigerate ganache mixture for 1 to 2 hours or until chocolate mixture is firm and can be rolled into balls.
Sift 1/4 cocoa powder and powdered sugar (if using) into a pie pan.
Once ganache is firm, scoop chocolate balls into oversized teaspoonfuls and roll into balls. Use gloves if desired.
Roll each truffle in cocoa.
Set in refrigerator to harden. Enjoy!

If you don't have a microwave or can't figure out how to adjust the power settings, warm up the heavy whipping cream on the stovetop just until it begins to boil. Remove from heat, add in your chocolate and stir until melted.
